We are leaders in the market for providing best range of Feldspar Lumps and Feldspar Powder

Feldspar Lumps

  • Min. Order (MOQ) 100 Metric Ton

Feldspar is the name given to a group of minerals distinguished by the presence of alumina and silica (SiO2) in their chemistry.  This group includes aluminum silicates of soda, potassium, or lime. It is the single most abundant mineral group on Earth.  They account for an estimated 60% of exposed rocks, as well as soils, clays, and other unconsolidated sediments, and are principal components in rock classification schemes. The minerals included in this group are the orthoclase, microcline and plagioclase feldspars.

Feldspar Powder

The company holds expertise in offering Feldspar Powder. Feldspar Powder, offered by us, comprises of a group of minerals, containing potassium, sodium, calcium, and aluminum silicates. They are the most common rock-forming minerals. Feldspar Powder is mainly used as bonding agent along with magnesium oxide, magnesium chloride and other synthetic glue in the manufacture of abrasives, wheels, discs and other shapes. Feldspar Powder is made from the Feldspar that is found in abundance in Andhra Pradesh, India.

The common types of Feldspar found on the earth’s crust are :

  • Potash feldspar powder (K2O, Al2O3, SiO2)
  • Soda feldspar powder (Na2O, Al2O3, SiO2)

The commercial Feldspar is potash Feldspar. The potassium molecule is replaced by sodium to some extent and hence, potash Feldspar usually contains a small percentage of sodium. The composition range of the commercial Feldspar varies within the limits of potash, soda and silica.

Potash and soda Feldspar occur as essential constituents of granite, syenite and gneisses. However, workable deposits are found in pegmatite veins consisting mainly of Feldspar, Quartz-Feldspar veins and also occur with mica pegmatites.

Feldspar is generally used for three purposes :

  • In making the body composition of several types of ceramic, porcelain, china and earthenware and also in the preparation of glazes and enamel
  • As an important ingredient in the glass sand batch
  • As a bonding agent in the manufacture of bonded abrasives like wheels and discs of garnet, corundum, emery etc
