We are offering Expanded Clay Aggregates. LECA is acronym for Light Expanded Clay Aggregates formed by baking volcanic clay in a rotary kiln at 1200°C. This expands the clay into aerated modules with a tough outer shell. The resulting aggregate is inert, light, non-combustible, rot-proof and strong. The expansion process where the clay expands up to five times it’s initial volume means much less raw material is consumed. It is therefore a sustainable solution for the future. LECA aggregates are round in shape with coarse and course texture. Its exterior color is brown and black with a spongy cellular structure inside . In addition each of the LECA balls also acts to form of geometric barrier which helps to displace and irratiate heat over a larger suface area the air entrapped in LECA the cellular structure of lightweight aggregates , reduces the rate of heat , transfer compared with dense, natural aggregates. For this reason, the enhanced properties of LECA such as thermal , accoustic , sound , compressive strength , low weight etc., it is been have been used widely to improve performance in buildings and structures. Besides LECA pellets are pH neutral, and are porous, and have the ability to store water. The gaps between the pellets provide good aeration for root systems.By virtue of being lighter than normal aggregates clay granules are easier to transport and handle and are frequently used by sports and recreation contractors for drainage and back-filling to concrete structures. LECA are used as a substrate in hydroculture hydroponics, and blended with other growing media to improve drainage insulate roots from frost. They can also be spread as a top dressing (mulch) around plants to retain moisture and help prevent growth. LECA is widely used for roofheat insulation, light weight fill , roof garden , landscaping , structural concrete , making of precast blocks , panels etc.
