We have had traditionally open circuit water heating systems in the market. The cold water is input in a collector having six or nine copper pipes with fins. As the water gets heated it rises and collects in the tank for distribution. Water quality being very harsh, as it gets heated and rises it leaves salt deposition on the capillaries, Choking them in some time. The result is a choked system, which stops functioning. EPL pioneered in the introduction of closed circuit technology by providing indirect heating system. Solpower solar water heating system is a heat exchanger. Urja Store How Urja Store Works The thermic fluid is pumped up by P3, heats the cold water in PHE and drains down in the evening in D1. There is an electrical backup in D1 which comes on after it is filled. The drained thermic fluid is at 30 – 40 degrees C with residual heat left over from the day. The booster heats the fluid to 70 degrees again. P2 pumps this to PHE and cold keeps coming from P1. It thus becomes a Day/ night system.  Highlights A setup of heat exchange 'Urja Store 'is providing the mechanism during the day Drained down fluid with residual heat comes to Drain down tank which is insulated. This being a neutral fluid, element finds it easier to top it without stress. It helps in energy saving as a pre heated neutral fluid gets heated by a jacketed booster and hence the efficiency of the element is high. The mechanism keeps giving the hot water through PHE, which makes it a night time operations as well. Automatic control First control by the Differential Controller the second control via thermostat. If the solar pump is switched off by the Differential Controller, the elements will switch on only if the thermostat calls for heating. A further control is a summertime control arrangement that can switch the elements on only at night.
