Very rare, vintage 4 inches long Smoking pipe. Hand made by the artesian. Perfect round shape completely plain design. The pipe comes with the stone. The pipe is in perfectlyworking condition without any leaks or problems. The stone fits perfectly in the pipe that won't fall and it also doesn't let the ash burn your tounge. Very few articians in the current era are able to replicate this finished product with such precision.

The original design comes from the land of Lord Shiva (The destroyer). The ancient sculptures often depicted Lord Shiva smoking also known as Chillum / Chillam in India. This pipe is an ancient design with embedded Om chant devotional figures (rarely available and mostly found with the priests (jogi's) in mountains.

This is a handmade pipe created with clay and inspired from the ancient Indian handicraft. Each piece is worked and tested with detail. Products from Himalayan Range doesn't contain any harmful chemicals or synthesized products that contains lead or anything toxic. The stem hole is large enough that it shouldn't ever clog, if it does, it will clean easily. You'll sure love the product and find it as enjoyable to own.

Pottery making is long process. The pottery piece has to be completely dry before it's fired in a kiln to a temperature of about 1800 degrees f, that allows the piece to be handled and glazed. Brushing on glaze, (essentially glass with natural elements for color)takes 3 coats for each color, it's very labor intensive and time consuming. The piece is fired again to 1880 degrees f to melt the glaze onto the piece and removed from the kiln immediately when the glaze has fluxed, red hot, with metal tongs, and put in a container(metal garbage can, a hole in the ground with a lid, etc.)full of combustibles such as newspaper or dried leaves, etc. for the reduction process. Glazed clay pipes smoke every bit as well as glass or better. And because of the clay body, is sturdier than glass, not many people eat on glass dinner plates. Many also think that clay has more character.

Why Smoke a clay pipe?

Clay pipes are more forgiving: The material from which they are made is not flammable, so one need not beconcerned if one has a habit of regular chain smoking. Burnout is impossible. Since clay pipes tend to have longer stems, they have a higher specific heat(meaning they can absorb more heat) and radiate heat more readily thanBriar, even if one is smoking too hot and hard, it is unlikely that tonguebite will be an issue for most materials (some tobaccos would bite you evenif you just sprinkled them on an incense burner)- Ceramic suffers abuse more stoically than either Briar or Meerschaum, but not as much as glass. While it is true thatour clay pipes are not brittle, they areunlikely to survive a fallor a sharp blow, it's alsounlikely that you will damage your pipethrough over-vigorous applicationof your pipe tool. Our original clay pipes aren't as heavy as they might look, only a few ounces.
Clay pipes do not require any break-in period or seasoning tosmoke well. No cake is necessary, and the clay being incapable ofburning while you smoke it does not influence the flavor of the material.While a seasoned clay pipe does smoke a little better than a fresh one, thedifference is not a great one, and a new clay pipe comes essentially "readyto rock" with whatever material you choose to put in it.
The absence of any foreign material (burning Briar, flavors from thecuring oil in Meerschaum) in your smoke will result in a brighter, clearerflavor, making clay pipes an excellent way to sample new smoking material or simplyto rediscover an old favorite.
