Sandstone is a very famous and well known stone. This stone is basically made up of Quartz rock grains of sand size mineral along with other minerals of almost similar size. Rajasthan is the biggest supplier of Sandstone all over India.
This stone has a very good acid resistance property, thats why this stone is very much preferred for the exterior areas such as roofing, paving, slabs, pillars, arches and beams. These stone have a very long life. These stone have a very good resistance to saline water that is why it is even used on the banks of rivers. This stone has a very good binding with cement, no special cement is used for binding these like used for marbles.
