Applications S-7018G can be used for highly efficient – welding of 400Mpa (73, 000Ibs/in3) class high tensile steel, such as bridges, buildings, rolling stock and machines.

Notes on Usage

  • Dry the electrodes at 300 – 350oC (572`882oF)
  • Keep the arc as short as possible
  • Use wind screen against strong wind.

S – 7018. G is an Iron powder low hydrogen type electrode of high efficiency used for welding 490MPa class high tensile steel. Its usability is good with direct current applications as well as altermating current applications and easy to weld in all position.

Details

  • Dry the electrodes at 300 oC – 350 oC for 60 minutes before use.
  • Store the electrodes at 100 150 C after drying for keeping them away from moisture.
  • Keep the arc as short as possible, and avoid large width weaving.
  • Adopt back step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepar – ed for this particular purpose to prevent blowholes at the arc starting.
  • Use the wind screen against strong wind.
