Grodex Corrogum Dlx- Corrugation Gum Powder

Preservatives : Do not add any preservatives in it. Addition of Preservatives may reduce viscosity and adhesion of the liquid gum

High Coverage : Corrogum has very low viscosity of 18 seconds at 1 : 5 Water mixing ratio. Therefore lifting of the gum on the roller will be negligible. Please make sure that sufficient. Gum quantity is released thru roller. Compared to any other glue, COROGUM will give you 2 to 3 times better coverage.

Heat Drying :

  • This gum gives instant bond on drying as soon as it passes through heater. No need to wait for air drying. Instant bond and instant drying of liners at the point of heating are its unique features.
  • No need to wait for liners to dry out. You can simply proceed for pasting of liners. Complete tearing off of fibres as soon as liner comes out of heater, is guaranteed. Perfectly suitable for high B/F and high gsm papers.


Better Result : For faster drying / curing of sheets, Low warpage, more B/S, More compression and better feel to bare hands, etc. always prefer To work with high solids and low viscosity.

How to Prepare :

  • Tale entire 175 Ltrs of water in a gum vessel. Start stirrer and add gradually grodex corrogum powder to water. Let entire powder dissolve in water.
  • It takes 5 to 10 minutes powder to get dissolve in water.Continue stirring for 20 to 25 minutes. Milky white gum is now ready.
  • Do not use gum immediately after preparing. This gum will give better results if kept overnight. Always stir well before taking it to corrugation machine from gum vessel.


Anti Fungus : The product has been given anti fungus treatment in the Manufacturing process itself and therefore actual users are requested not to add any Anti Fungus Chemicals to it. Such addition may reduce viscosity and Pin Adhesion of the gum.

Pasting Gum Powder

  • Application Cold Process Pasting. (can also Be Used for Corrugation).
  • Shelf Life Shelf Life of Powder is 3 Months from the Date of Manufacturing.
  • Base Modified Tapioca Starch & Corn Starch (vegetable Base) with Chemical Starter. (two Pack System ).
  • Colour Powder - Off White to Yellowish, Liquid Gum - Shinning Reddish Brown.
  • PH 12 (Alkaline)
  • Pot Life Pot Life of Gum is 72 Hours if Kept Hygienically.
  • Better Bursting Grodex Tio Gives Additional Bursting and Compression to the Sheet.

Viscosity :

Viscosity to be checked on Ford Cup No. 4 –

  • (40 Kg Bag) 1 : 4 water mixing ratio Visc. 30 to 35, solids 20 %
  • (35 Kg Bag) 1 : 5 water mixing ratio Visc. 30 to 35, solids 17 %
  • (30 Kg Bag) 1 : 6 water mixing ratio Visc. 30 to 35, solids 14.5%

 

Preservatives : Preservatives have already been added to Grodex TiO and therefore do not add any preservatives in it. Addition of preservatives may reduce viscosity and adhesion of the liquid gum.

Anti Fungus :

  • The product has been given anti fungus treatment in the manufacturing process itself and therefore actual users are requested not to add any Anti Fungus Chemicals to it.
  • Such addition may reduce viscosity and Pin Adhesion of the gum.


How to Prepare :

  • First take entire 4/5/6 units of water in a vessel mounted by High speed stirrer. Start stirrer and add gradual flow of grodex TiO powder to it.
  • Do not put entire 1 unit of powder at a time to avoid lumps formation. After putting 1 unit of pasting powder in to the water, make sure that there is no lumps formation and entire powder hasbeen dissolved in to water. You will get a Milky white solution from it.
  • Take 5 Ltrs of Water in a bucket and add entire starter chemical packet in it. Dissolve it completely in water. Add that starter mixed 5 Ltr Water in the milky white solution slowly. Continue stirring.Unless liquid changes its color to shining Radish Brown
  • Continuestirring for at least 25 to 30 minutes to get maximum solids percent and desired 30 to 35 sec viscosity. Ensure viscosity on B-4 cup as 30 to 35 seconds. Check Solids.

Drying & Plasticization Moisture Regain etc : This is alkaline gum. Caustic is used in this gum as a catalyst. Caustic is hygroscopic and has a tendency to catch moisture even from open air.

 

Therefore boxes made of alkaline gum will have tendency to catch moisture even though dried completely in the manufacturing process. Such boxes are likely to catch moisture under following circumstances :

  • If Boxes are kept in Deep Fridge where humidity rises.
  • If Boxes are kept uncovered in rainy conditions.
  • In High seas/containers (Exports) where humidity goes too high.

Addition of moisture after actual packing of final finished goods in it, will cause lower compression. Boxes are likely to collapse resulting in damage to packed finished goods in it.
If box regains moisture, it may cause fungus growth on the surface of the box, as humid surface creates conjugal atmosphere for fungus growth.
To avoid this problem you can use Dextrin based neutral gum powders which do not catch moisture on complete drying, in any weather conditions.

Grodex C/P neutral : Humectants used in the Grodex C/P neutral pasting gum slow the drying rate of the film, to allow a more plastic film.This gum is basically used for moisture or humidity control and therefore sufficient time is required to be given to dry down and allow maximum plasticization. In a rainy season or in a highly humid climatic condition allow pasted sheets for at least 24 to 36 hours to dry down to allow maximum plastic film formation.

Use in Corrugated Paper Board Industry
  • First take entire 4 units of water in a vessel mounted by High speed stirrer. Start stirrer and add gradual flow of cold pasting powder. Do not put entire 1 unit of powder at a time to avoid lumps formation. After putting 1 unit of pasting powder in to the water, make sure that there is no lumps formation and entire powder has been dissolved in to water.
  • You will get a dark golden brown solution from it. Continue stirring for at least 15 minutes to ensure highest solubility and maximum solid percentage. Ensure viscosity on B-4 cup as 30 to 35 seconds. Check Solids. It has to be 20%.
  • We also certify that we have not added any chemical, of any kind, acid or alkali in the said product before, at the time and even after manufacturing process. This is just a combination of Highest Quality Starch, roasted at different temperatures in different stages, to make it water-soluble and to develop viscosity.

Corrugation Gum Powder

Moisture in the paper board is the main problem of corrugators. Most of the gum powders available in the market are fast curing but gain moisture even after drying in humid climatic condition. Gaining of moisture in the box results in negative bursting and compression strength.

Corrugators either use high B/F and High GSM papers or high solids gum to get desired bursting and compression to the box. But if gum is hygroscopic then box is bound to gain moisture even after complete drying.

By using grodex moisture resistant grades, corrogators can use lower B/F and lower GSM and still get higher bursting and compression to the box

We have developed both pasting and corrugationAdhesives which will not attract moisture once dried fully and therefore guarantee positive bursting and compression to the box.
