Hirect has entered into foreign technical tie-up for static converter for replacement of rotary arno converters of Electric locomotives manufactured and operated by the Indian Railways, A large number of 180kVA converters have been manufactured and installed. Hirect also offers 3 x 100kVA converters for the three phase electric locomotives.

The power Diodes available from Hirect Include Standard Rectifier diodes starting from 6Amps to 6000Amp It(av), with voltages upto 4800V(piv). These devices are offered in a variety of packages starting from M6 stud in top hat range to 3" in capsule types. In addition to rectifier diodes, a number of fast recovery diodes and other special devices with avalanche characteristics are available

Starting with the supply of diodes for traction application, Hirect now caters to wide range of rectifiers for rolling stock application. High power electric locomotive, AC Electrical Multiple Units are powered by Hirect̢۪s on-board or under slung rectifiers. Hirect rectifiers are also installed on board Diesel locomotives and Diesel-Electric Multiple Units. Rectifiers for special purpose like OHE cars, Mobile Maintenance Units, Accidents Relief vans etc. are also catered. On-board Installation and Under-carriage slung version of rectifier sets are manufactured by highly trained work force and specially created infrastructure for a high degree of reliability in critical traction application.

HIRECT has developed specialized power electronic equipments for a range of applications. Thyristor control constant voltage and constant current power supply are used by R & D organizations like BARC, CAT, IPR etc. Constant Current Regulators are being supplied for Airport runway lighting. These are used for guidance during aircraft landing and take off at civil airports as well as air force stations.
