IDDC ENGINEERS PVT. LTD. (IDDC) has been awarded the work of condition assessment, inspection, etc. for about 450 nos. of various types of structures along the tunnel alignment for Kolkata Metro Rail. This tunneling work has been executed by M/s ITD - ITD Cem (JV). IDDC carried out physical measurement of existing structures, visual inspection, tilt measurement, crack mapping including documentation of all the data collected. The structures were also classified based on the distress level into categoriessuch as negligible, very slight, slight, moderate, severe and very severe. Remedial measures for the distress was also suggested.

The structures involved along the Metro alignment were residential, commercial buildings, railway culverts, flyovers, elevated water tanks, existing metro station, heritage buildings, etc. These structures were ranging from ground floor to G + 11 stories.
