Stress Control Tubes

This data sheet covers the requirements for heat shrinkable medium wall stress control tubes (SCT) whose dimension will shrink to a predetermined size upon the application of heat above 125 C. Color of the SCT is black. The SCT provides excellent stress control functions.
Typical Applications
SCT provides excellent electrical stress control at the end of semi-con screen in terminations and joints of XLPE cables. SCT is also used with PILC cables. SCT is normally used as an integral part of cable terminations and cable joints up to 36 kV.

Bus Bar Insulation Tubes

This data sheet covers the requirements for heat shrinkable bus bar insulating tubes (BBT & BBT Plus) whose dimension will shrink to a predetermined size upon the application of heat above 1250C. Color of the BBT & BBT Plus is red. The BBT & BBT Plus provides excellent insulating properties and have good flexibility for installation on all types of bus bars. BBT is a medium wall bus bar tube for genaral applications and BBT Plus is a heavy wall bus bar tube for applications which require a higher level of insulation.
Typical Applications

Busbars insulated with Ikebana BBT & BBT Plus are corona discharge free even with shorter spacing between phase to phase. This enables compact switch gear panel design. It offers good protection from environmental effects, ultra-violet radiation and moisture. The tough cross-linked polyolefin material provides good mechanical protection.

Materials
The base material of the BBT & BBT Plus is thermally stabilized, cross linked blended polyolefins. The basic resin is mixed with chemical additives offering good electrical insulating properties.

Thin Wall Tubes

this data sheet covers the requirements for heat shrink thin wall tubes whose dimensions will shrink to a predetermined size upon the application of heat above 100 deg. C. Ikebana manufacture two categories of heat shrink thin wall tubes as follows:
  • non-flame retardant heat shrink thin wall tubing - ikebana twt. The standard colour for ikebana twt (nfr) is black. On special request other colours like blue, red, yellow, green, white and grey can be manufactured.

  • commercial grade self-extinguishing thin wall tubing - ikebana twt-f. The standard colours for ikebana twt (fr) are black, blue, red, yellow, green, white and grey.
ikebana heat shrink thin wall tubes have:
  • excellent heat resistance: made from cross linked polyolefin, non-melting.

  • large application range: expansion ratio 2:1 and available in a range of colours.

  • easy installation: in the factory or at site using gas torch, hot blower or in hot oven. Shrinks uniformly over uneven surfaces.

  • sizes: available in either metric size (1.0 mm to 50.0 mm) or imperial inch size (3/64" to 2")
typical applications
ikebana thin wall tubes are flexible commercial grade tubing useful for applications such as bundling, colour coding and harnessing of wires in automotive, electrical and electronics industry. Ikebana thin wall tubes offer excellent insulation and mechanical protection for wires. A wide color range makes the tubes very attractive for various applications.
