Benfil

  • Mode of Action

It is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide with protective and curative action. It is taken and translocated within the plant as a result of which the latter become fungitoxic. When applied to the roots, the active ingredient passes Inter cellularly into the xylem vessels & it is swept along by the sap stream towards the foliage. When applied to the foliage the fungicide gets into the xylem and spreads to the distal parts of the leaf but not in the opposite direction towards the roots. It mainly acts by inhibiting development of germ tubes, the formation of appressoria and the growth of mycelia.

  • Special Features
    • Benfil formulation is one of the best in the industry. Broad spectrum fungicide, which controls large no. of diseases with its strong mode of action.
    • Benfil As compare to other fungicides, it is less expensive in the long run with respect to the superior protection and cost per acre.
  • Application

It is used in various ways such as seed treatment, soil drench, soil mixture and foliar sprays. It is advisable to use Carbendazim in alternate with contact fungicides or as tank mix application with contact fungicides like Indofil M-45, to manage resistance. For seed/ rhizome/ tuber treatment, dip the seed material at least for 15 minutes. For post harvest dipping, dip for 10 minutes.

  • Compatibility

It is compatible with commonly used pesticides. It is not compatible with lime sulphur and Bordeaux mixture or alkaline solutions.

  • Phytotoxicity

No Phytotoxicity observed if used as recommended.

FUNGICIDES COMPANION

  • Mode of Action

It is a mixture of Mancozeb and Carbendazim. Mixture partner Mancozeb remains on the plant surface and acts by contact action (Preventive). It is fungitoxic when exposed to air, converted in to an isothiocyanate, which inactivates the sulphahydral groups of enzymes in fungi, thus, cause disturbance in fungal enzyme functioning. Other partner Carbendazim, which is having systemic activity (absorbed through roots and green tissues), acts as protective and curative. Acts by inhibiting the development of fungal germ tube, formation of appressoria and growth of mycelia.

  • Special Features
    • Broad spectrum, contact and systemic mixture fungicide, with preventive and curative action. Effective against many diseases complexes on large number of crops, as seed treatment, nursery / soil drenching, fruit/ rhizome/ tuber dip and foliar sprays.
    • Provides Manganese and Zinc nutrition to crops, there by keeps plant greener and healthy
    • Stimulates plant growth, vigour, enhance flowering and ultimately increase yield. In fruit crop better results obtained if sprayed at bud emergence stage.
    • Multisite activity prevent in developing resistance.
    • Very less waiting period, may be used upto day of harvest environmentally safe-degrades rapidly in soil & also safe for beneficial insects.
    • Imparts excellent fruit finish to apple and other fruit crops, thus increase the market value of the produce.

    • Prevent from frost damage-Best fungicide to be used along with systemic fungicides for protective and curative control of disease and to prevent of delay resistance development.
    • EnvironmentallysafeLow persistence in environment as it rapidly degrades in soil and water, no leaching potential.
  • Application

For better disease management, it is always advisable to remember the maxim PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE.Generally the sprays of Indofil M-45 should start before the appearance of disease or at disease initiation. Repeat the applications at 7-12 days interval depending on climatic conditions and disease severity. The general recommendations on various crops are given below, but it is advisable to use the product as per the local recommendations of agricultural institutes. Recommended rate for foliar spray is 600-800 grams per acre with water volume of 200 to 400 liter/acre based upon crop type, canopy and stage. For seed treatment, general recommendation is 2.5 g/kg seed. Tubers or rhizomes are recommended to be dipped for minimum 20-30 minutes before sowing @300g per 100 liter.
