AAC conductoris used mainly in urban areas because the spacing is short and the supports are close. All aluminum conductors are made up of one or more strands of aluminum wire depending on the end usage. AAC conductors are also used extensively in coastal areas because they have a very high degree of corrosion resistance. These conductors are formed by several wires of aluminum, stranded in concentric layers.
All the wires have the same nominal diameter. Most common constructions consist of 7, 19, 3 7 and 61 wires.
