- in a vls sealing system the vls generator creates an alternating electric field between two electrodes. the tissue bundle to be heated is conveyed between the electrodes where the alternating energy caused polar molecules in the tissue bundle to continuously reorient them to face opposite poles much like the way bar magnets behave in an alternating magnetic field. the friction resulting from molecular movement causes the tissue bundle to rapidly heat throughout its entire mass. this heat and the pressure of the electrodes start the seal process
