Balsam Peru oil tropical tree with straight smooth trunk, very fragrant flower and beautiful foliage. The true Balsam which is collected from a dark brown and semi solid mass. The beans contain Coumarone, the husks an extremely acrid bitter resin, and a volatile oil a gum resin, quite distinct from the proper balsam, exudes from the trunk of the tree and contains gum resin and a volatile oil. Balsam Peru oil distilled by steam distillation method. Balsam of Peru is warm and aromatic, much hotter and more stimulating than Balsam of Copaiba and is used for similar complaints.
Blend With: Black Pepper, Lotus Pink, Neroli, Osmanthus, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang Extra, Ylang Ylang Complete.
Uses: Balsam Peru oil is highly used in fragrance component in soaps, detergents, lotion, perfumes and creams. it lessens mucous secretions, and is of value in bronchorrhoea gleets, leucorrhoea and chronic bronchitis, and asthma. Balsam of Peru essential oil is also used for many skin conditions. Dilute it by about 50 times in a carrier oil and apply as a massage on the skin. It is used to heal broken, damaged skin which is seen in many skin conditions.
