The origin of Maharishi Ayurveda is inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ji, the founder of the Transcendental Meditation technique. He also initiated a global undertaking to impart the wisdom of this beautiful meditation technique across the world to help people live stress- free life and experience inner peace in times of modern-day turmoil. Realizing that modern lifestyles negatively impact not only mental but even physical well-being, Maharishi Ji stressed the importance of living in harmony with nature, adopting Ayurvedic practices, and using herbal medicines as a means of promoting optimal health for individuals. He spread the knowledge of Ayurveda far and wide in the Western world and gathered the most eminent Ayurvedic experts of the time - the late Dr. Brihaspati Dev Triguna, Dr. V. M. Dwivedi, and Dr. Balraj Maharishi. Under his guidance, they created and perfected formulations that adhere to Ayurvedic principles, utilizing natural, organic components and traditional preparation methods. The journey did not stop just with the formulation of these products but was taken up a notch with numerous research studies conducted to prove their potential scientifically.

His aim of producing clinically tested and authentic Ayurvedic products that meet modern medical standards was brought to fruition by Late Shri Anand Shrivastava Ji, who then laid the foundation of Maharishi Ayurveda, the only organization dedicated to formulating clinically tested products that are not only authentic but also legally exportable worldwide. The organization initially set out to bring its wealth of knowledge and expertise in Ayurveda to the West and subsequently expanded its reach to India.
