Our Products
Clean air is essential to the performance and life of your engine. Proper air filtration is important because a small amount of dirt can cause a tremendous amount of engine damage.
Baldwin offers a wide range of air filters to provide the protection your engine needs. With over 2, 200 air filters in our line, Baldwin filters supply the necessary protection for all types of engines.
Dirty fuel is a fact of life. Even with the development of cleaner-burning fuels, contaminants are still a major concern when it comes to fuel systems.
Baldwin Filters offers more than 650 different fuel filters, fuel managers, coalescers and fuel/water separators to protect your engine.
Dirty oil can cause catastrophic damage to your engine. By using the proper lube filter for your engine, you can minimize the possibility of costly downtime and repairs.
Baldwin Filters has been making lube filters for over seventy years. With more than 650 lube filters for heavy-duty and automotive applications, Baldwin has the coverage and quality you demand
With the need for closer tolerances, faster cycle times, higher pressures and extended service intervals, more demand is being placed on the hydraulic filter.
In addition to a full line of spin-on and cartridge hydraulic filters, Baldwin Filters also offers a line of hydraulic bases and indicators.
Coolant filters protect your engine by trapping contaminants and distributing Supplemental Coolant Additives (SCAs) into your cooling system. Baldwin offers coolant filters with two SCA formulations to meet specific engine needs.
Cabin air filters are becoming more common in automotive and heavy-duty on- and off-highway applications.
These filters reduce the amount of airborne pollutants and particles entering the interior of a vehicle by capturing dust, pollen and other airborne contaminants.
A Baldwin cabin air filter will protect passengers from airborne pollen, bacteria, dust and smog, reduce dust and dirt accumulation in the vehicles interior and increase air conditioning and heat output and performance.
Baldwin cabin air filters are built to OE specifications to give you and your equipment the best protection available.
Many existing fuel filters arent designed to remove significant amounts of water. They are designed to do their job in a single step. This means they must be porous enough to allow sufficient flow volume, which limits filtering ability. Any tighter media would result in frequent element changes.
The DAHL system takes care of those shortcomings. DAHLs functional dual-chamber 3-stage diesel fuel filter/water separators provide efficient suction side water separation and contaminant filtration. The key is the unique DAHL patented depressurizer cone, which spreads the flow of the fuel. With more area to flow over, greater separation of water and dirt from the fuel is achieved.
DAHL fuel filter/water separators have less mechanical flow resistance than other separators, because the fuel changes direction only twice. The DAHL unit removes virtually 100% of the water and most of the contaminants from the fuel.
Counterfeit parts cost our industry $12 billion a year. Beyond that, counterfeiting takes away good manufacturing jobs, creates safety risks to consumers and technicians and destroys the brand reputation of legitimate manufacturers. It's not always apparent that a part is not a genuine part, but there are several things to look for and consider when purchasing a genuine Baldwin Filter. In all photos, the counterfeit filter is on the left, and the Genuine Baldwin filter is on the right. |
PackagingIf the packaging appears flimsy, lacks the name brand or logo, or has graphics or a brand that are similar to, but slightly different from, Baldwin, it may not be a Genuine Baldwin product. |
PricingBaldwin filters are competitively priced. If you are offered a Baldwin filter at a price that seems too good to be true, it may be. |
ColorThe color of a Baldwin spin-on filter may not be correct on a counterfeit filter. It may be close, but just not right. |
GraphicsGraphics on the filters, including the logo, may be missing or incorrect. In the photo to the left, the counterfeit filter has 2 I's in Baldwin. |
ComponentsA counterfeit filter may look right upon first glance, but upon closer examination, you may find major differences. Some places to look include: |
DimensionsThe dimensions of the filter may not be the same as a genuine Baldwin filter. |
BaseplateThe baseplate may look different or be made from a different material than that used by Baldwin. |
Seaming |
Media Packs Counterfeit media packs often have an obviously lower pleat count than Baldwin. In addition, the pleats may be deformed. |
GasketsBoth internal and external gaskets may look different or be made from a different material than that used by Baldwin. |
Date CodeBaldwin manufactured filters have a date code imprinted on them. The date code can appear with six or eleven digits. |
UPC CodeThe UPC code on a counterfeit filter may be missing or incorrect. |
Country of OriginBaldwin manufactured filters are marked with the country of origin. Baldwin has manufacturing plants in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, South Africa, Morroco and China. |
Counterfeit filters and other parts are generally not made to provide the specific protection required by your equipment. Remember to inspect filters prior to installing or sale to ensure that you are using quality, genuine Baldwin filters. |
Baldwin Filters has a full line of direct replacement air dryers for heavy-duty air braking systems. BADLWIN BA53XX series products can be used on applications currently using Bendix, Haldex and other popular systems.
BALDWIN current line consists of seven dryers. Replacements for several other applications are in process to be released soon. Typical applications include on- and off-highway trucks, transit buses and waste hauler trucks.
Why Use Air Dryers?A typical application consists of a compressor (to pressurize the system), an air dryer (to remove water and small amounts of oil from the compressed air) and a reservoir or air tank (to store air to be used for vehicle braking, etc.).
The workhorse of the air dryer is the desiccant (a drying agent), which helps remove water from the compressed air. The end result is cleaner, drier air supplied to the air brake system. This helps to prevent line and component freeze, and promotes longer life of the air system itself.
Typical service intervals for Air Dryer products are:
Most axial seal style air filters for heavy-duty applications are made with sealing gaskets glued to steel end caps. As the filter is secured in the housing, the gasket compresses against flat sealing surfaces, forms a seal and prevents airborne contaminants from bypassing the filter.
The ChangeAs an innovative company, Baldwin Filters now utilizes new technology in the design of a select group of axial seal style heavy-duty air filters within our product line. Some steel end caps with glued sealing gaskets will now be replaced by molded urethane en+d caps and sealing gaskets. With this technology, soft urethane used for the gasket is molded together with a more rigid urethane used for the end cap. Some filters will have urethane end caps on both ends while others may still require the use of a metal end cap at one end.
The Benefits
When Will I See The New Design?A running change will be made to the filters involved. Many products already utilize this technology.
At Baldwin Filters we have one goal to protect your engine from damage. As the proven leader in providing the industry with the finest filtration products available, our engineering team is constantly looking for ways to make them work better for you.
|
The new style filters will be placed into stock as the old style filters stock is depleted.
