Dettol, first produced circa 1929, is older than most living people and continues to inspire trust due to its effectiveness as a disinfectant. It utilizes three antiseptic ingredients Chloroxylenol, pine oil and isopropyl alcohol to provide extensive coverage against most infectious bacteria. Its other ingredients are castor oil soap (a pale yellow liquid that serves as the base), water and caramel. The resulting liquid is a rich amber brown that has very unique and fortunately pleasant chemical scent. As the Dettol Antiseptic Liquid is quite strong, it needs to be mixed into water and diluted before use. Directions are available on the bottle that detail the right amounts of water andDettol Liquidto be mixed.
