SANCEL ® Microcrystalline cellulose is widely used in pharmaceuticals, primarily as a binder/diluent in oral tablet and capsule formulations where it is used in both wet-granulation and direct-compression processes. In addition to its use as a binder/diluent, SANCEL ®  Microcrystalline Cellulose also has some lubricant and disintegrant properties that make it useful in tableting. SANCEL ® Microcrystalline Cellulose is purified, partly depolymerized cellulose with shorter, crystalline polymer chains. Its strong binding performance makes SANCEL ® MCC one of the most commonly used fillers and binders in drug formulations across the world. Magnesium stearate is a very fine, light white, precipitated or milled, impalpable powder of low bulk density, having a faint odor of stearic acid and a characteristic taste. It mainly consists of variable proportions of magnesium stearate and magnesium palmitate obtained from vegetable sources. Magnesium stearate increases the time it takes for tablets and capsules to dissolve due to the film it forms on capsule or tablet ingredients. Magnesium stearate coats a good portion of the molecules in a tablet or capsule, requiring digestive enzymes to break down the magnesium stearate coating before being able to access the nutrients it envelops.   ADVANTAGES Proper hopper flow can be achieved. Croscarmellose sodium is a cross linked polymer of carboxy methyl cellulose sodium and used in pharmaceutical formulation as a disintegrant. Croscarmellose sodium occurs as an odorless, white or grayish white powder. Disintegrants facilitate the breakup of a tablet in the intestinal tract after oral administration. Cross-linking allows enhanced bioavailability of the drug through superior drug dissolution.
