It all began in the year 1996 when Praful Furia the chairman of Nishant shirts with an established garment export manufacturing unit decided to manufacture with his own brand name "Nishant". The shirts were put on sale with a starting price of just Rs.45/- and sold almost immediately. This was at a time when fashion industry was considered as an expensive industry. This prompted them to open their first store with just a few garments on display keeping the same concept of economical pricing intact. The response was tremendous.

Nishant shirts became the first store in India dedicated to sell their products at economical prices. Set up in Mazgaon, Mumbai the brand is frequented by loyalists since its inception. The brand has now grown and spread its branches throughout the country with over 25 stores in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
