The Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 seats. Currently, the department has an intake of 120 seats. All faculty members are highly qualified and dedicated. Department is working to put technology to its best use throughout. The focus is on the overall personality development of individuals and providing industrial interaction to them. Major components, such as programming languages and paradigms, data mining and warehousing, web technology, etc. which help the students to compete with the recent developments in the IT industry. The students are trained to perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases.

So, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIET, Greater Noida imparts technical knowhow to students, promote their problem solving skills and involve them in the innovation of new technologies. The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), MHRD, Government of India, New Delhi. Several faculty members serve on the editorial boards of national and international journals, review technical articles for journals on a regular basis, and organize skill development programmes, seminars and conferences. Our department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The faculty members have been engaged in research in all the classical areas of Mechanical Engineering and the upcoming area too. To meet the research requirements a new laboratory for parallel Computation facility is funded by AICTE. We aim to provide our students a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that help them to serve the society and address a variety of needs. State of art laboratories like modern optimization, Design and Graphics Involved Research Lab and Computer Integrated manufacturing Lab have been established in the development which consists of CNC Lathe, CNC Milling, CNC Drilling, Workstations, and the different softwares like: Autocad, Autodesk Inventor, Nastran-NX, Ideas, Solidworks, Abacus etc.

Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology is offering the Mahamaya Technical University approved PG course for the students who have a B.Tech degree in Computer Science/Information Technology. The course is offered by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering by highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty. Intake to this course is 24.The course offers core subjects like Foundations of Computer Science, Computer Networks, DBMS, Computer Organization & Architecture, Operating Systems, Data structures, Advanced Computer Graphics, Distributed systems, Artificial Intelligence, etc. The curriculum is according to MTU syllabus. However, in our institution, we are providing additional resources to bridge the gap between curriculum and Corporate. The objectives of this programme are to build a technological base in computer science & engineering, to analyze design, develop and evaluate high-end computing systems and undertake challenging projects and carry out research activity. It also leads to identify new trends and evaluate emerging technologies and to work on specialized and specific domains with faculty in various research divisions.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering started a PG course on M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with the intake of 18.The objectives of this programme are to build a technological base in Mechanical engineering, to analyze design, develop and evaluate high-end systems and undertake challenging projects and carry out research activity.

NIET is offering the Master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from session 2010-11, with an intake of 18 students. The duration of the M.Tech program is of two years, divided in four semesters. The first and second semesters are entirely coursework oriented whereas third and fourth semester involves seminar and dissertation work.The communication has permeated into the life style of the human being and forced every individual to carry a mobile telephone with him/her all through day and night to communicate with any other individual in the country or abroad, the moment he/she thinks. The major areas of design, manufacture, installation and operation of electronics equipment, systems and machinery, telecommunication systems, radio, TVs and computers used in the entertainment media, hospitals, computer industry, defence and in various other areas. The course is career oriented in nature and opens a lot of job scopes for degree holders. So to say, the communication has become the backbone of the societal development and hence the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering thought to go for the M. Tech. program.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIET offers Master of Technology with specialization in Computer Aided Design (CAD) approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University, Noida. CAD uses the wide range of computer-based tools to assist engineers in design activities. It involves both software and special-purpose hardware. The capabilities of modern CAD systems include reuse of design components, ease of design modification and versioning, automatic generation of standard components of the design, validation/verification of designs against specifications and design rules, simulation of designs, finite element analysis and automated design of assemblies etc. The curriculum followed has been designed by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow in consultation with expert academicians, industry experts and researchers keeping pace with the present technological developments and industry needs. The M.Tech (CAD) program at NIET is conducted by well-versed faculty, invited experts from reputed institutions and industries.The objectives of this programme are to give students greater breadth and depth of technical knowledge in the area of CAD, to synthesize and apply the concepts learnt and to provide experience in team-based engineering design projects.

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is offering the Master's degree in VLSI Design from session 2008-09, with an intake of 18 students. The duration of the M.Tech program is of two years of four semesters with first and second semesters are entirely coursework oriented whereas third and fourth semester involves seminar and Dissertation work. Most of the student of Electronics Engineering are exposed to Integrated Circuits at a very basic level, involving SSI circuits like logic gates or MSI circuit like Multiplexer, parity encoder etc. But there is a lot bigger world out there involving miniaturization at levels so great, that a micrometer and a microsecond are literally considered huge! This is the world of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). The aim of the course is trying to introduce the possibilities and the work involved in this field.

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) was established in the year 2012 with an undergraduate programme in Biotechnology. Over the years the department has seen exponential growth and has cemented its credentials both in the field of Teaching and Research. Our vision has been to impart quality education to budding biotechnology professionals and also foster strong interdisciplinary research in frontier areas of Biotechnology. Biotechnology department has signed MOUs with Codon Biotech. Pvt. Ltd., Noida & Institute for Industrial Research & Toxicology, Ghaziabad. We also have collaboration with various reputed institutes like IIT Roorkee, GGSIP University Delhi, IET Lucknow, NDRI Karnal, Biotech Park Lucknow, etc. Apart from providing in-depth knowledge of core biotechnology subjects, the students are provided with additional training in soft skills and foreign languages. The Institute offers a lot of opportunities to explore extracurricular activities for holistic and enriching experience to B.Tech. Biotechnology students. Our faculty members are involved in interdisciplinary research in frontier areas such as bio process technology, environmental biotechnology, nanotechnology, microbial technology, bioinformatics, genetic engineering to name a few. The grant of research activities includes Projects, Patents & Publications; and commercialization products are also under process.
