wood based activated carbon wood based activated carbon is produced from selected types of wood and sawdust. this type of carbon is produced by either steam or phosphoric acid activation. most pores in wood based carbon are in the meso and macro pore region which is ideal for decolorization of liquids and water. wood base carbon is primarily used in surface water and wastewater filters to remove organic impurities and to effectively remove larger molecular structures like mib (2-methylisoborneol) and geosmin. wood base phosphoric acid activation can yeild carbon with a very high surface area, ranging from 1500-2500 m2/g. the product is available in granular, pelletized, or powder forms.

Water washing is primarily performed to remove ash content from the granular activated carbon. Water wash is also used for the regeneration of granular activated carbon. We can perform water washing on different mesh sizes as per the customers requirement.

Acid Washed A process whereby the activated carbon is washed by acid to remove the water-soluble ash. This process will also lower the total ash content of the carbon as seen on the detailed specification sheets. Acid washed activated carbon is desirable for treating drinking water and food grade applications. Industries include municipal water treatment plants, food processing companies, breweries and distilleries among others.

Coal Based Activated Carbon Coal based activated carbon originates from coal that has undergone a steam activation process. During activation, millions of pores are created on the surface of the carbon, increasing the total surface area. Coal based carbon has mainly meso-pores and macro-pores and is very popular in gas phase purification, potable water purification, wastewater purification and aquarium/pond water purification applications.
