Ring Murukku is believed to have originated in Tamil Nadu and Andhra regions, where rice and lentils are staple ingredients. It evolved as a variation of the classic Murukku, with a fun twistliterally! Shaped into small rings, it became a favorite for its crispiness and playful design.
Ingredients & Craft:
Made from a mix of rice flour, roasted gram (pottukadalai), cumin or sesame seeds, and just the right amount of spice, the dough is hand-rolled into rings and deep-fried. Unlike regular murukku, the ring shape gives a unique texture and crunch.
