Polymer Aspheric LensorAspheric Lensis a Lens whose surface profiles are not portions of a sphere or cylinder.
The Asphere's more complex surface profile can reduce or eliminate spherical aberration and also reduce other optical aberrations such as astigmatism, compared to a simple lens. A single aspheric lens can often replace a much more complex multi-lens system. The resulting device is smaller and lighter, and often cheaper than the multi-lens design.
Polymer Aspheric Lens are used for Imaging Purpose, it also can be used for Virtual Realty which is widely used now days for 3D Experience. Small molded Aspheres are often used for collimating diode lasers.
Aspheric Lenses have complex curved surfaces, such as where the radius of curvature changes according to distance from the optical axis. Spherical lenses are subject to various aberrations and therefore cannot concentrate all the light into one point. Aspheric lenses on the other hand, however, offer excellent aberration correction performance, which provides superior resolution, even with compact optics composed of a small number of elements.
