Details : Copper Sulphate is commonly used by gardeners and commercial farmers to prevent problems with fungus or mold The copper status of the soil, together with the frequency of application and quantity of copper sulfate applied, will determine the effects of copper sulfate on plants.

Features & Benefits : Used in an area of copper-deficient soil, copper sulfate enriches the soil and provides an essential nutrient to growing plants. When soil is copper-deficient, young plants may develop chlorosis, a condition in which leaves yellow due to lack of chlorophyll. Copper deficiencies can also cause stunted or atypical growth; young plants in very nutrient-deficient soil may simply die. Wilting, lack of flowers and reduced fruit harvest are all likely effects of copper-deficient soil. Copper sulfate prevents these problems. Test soil regularly, and apply copper sulfate as needed in a spray or fertilizer preparation.

Application : Copper Sulphate can be applied directly to soil pre-sowing at 5-10kg/ha, which may result in a long-term residual effect. It is advisable to dilute to 0.75-1.0 kg/ha in 200 litres of water. These applications are proving to be most effective when applied at the mid to late tillering stage.

Packing : 25 kg HDPE Bag.

Details

  • Iron deficiency is a limiting factor of plant growth. Iron is present at high quantities in soils, but its availability to plants is usually very low, and therefore iron deficiency is a common problem.
  • Although most of the iron on the earth crust is in the form of Fe3+, the Fe2+ form is physiologically more significant for plants. This form is relatively soluble, but is readily oxidized to Fe3+, which then precipitates.
  • Fe3+ is insoluble in neutral and high pH, making iron unavailable to plants in alkaline and in calcareous soils. Furthermore, in these types of soil, iron readily combines with phosphates, carbonates, calcium, magnesium and hydroxide ions.

Features & Benefits : When iron deficiency is identified, it can be treated in the short term by applying a foliar spray of iron, but the best course of action is prevention. Therefore, the grower should identify the real cause of the deficiency and treat it, in order to prevent the problem from occurring in the future.

Technical Details : Ferrous Sulphateis a blue green crystal. Contains 19.5% Iron (Fe). Originally it was known as "green vitriol" or "copperas". It is soluble in water and melts at 64C.

Application Rate : Application of Ferrous Sulphate should be done in spring or early summer. Repeat application in 6-8 weeks as needed, to correct iron deficiency and promote dark green color. This product should be used to supplement a regular fertilization program.

Packing : 25 kg HDPE Bag.
