2. Sublimation coating for cooton saitech has innovated a new process of waterless dyeing of cotton fabrics (rfd) through sublimation with its water based bio polymer roithane. The coating of roithane yields a biodegradable film which is harmless to the skin. Roithane is pvc/voc and phthalates free and in compliance with all international standards. The cotton fabric is knife coated with roithane and dried under a temperature of 1000c and the fused together with the transfer paper at a temperature of around 1600c to 1800c. Under pressure and temperature, the dye turns into gas and permeates onto the coating on the substrate and then solidifies into it. The cotton fabric is permanently dyed so it can be washed without damaging the quality of the image. The image are initially printed on coated heat-resistant transfer paper, as a reverse image of the final design and is then transferred onto the substrate in a heat press operating system. In comparison to the existing method of printing over cotton, about 30 to 50 ltrs. Of water is saved for 1 kg of cotton fabric and no hazardous discharge is released in the environment in this process, unlike in existing printing methods. It is cost effective in comparison to existing printing methods and the images are permanent and do not peel or fade.
