1. Prevention of spillage and pilferage thereby reducing the wastage

3. Better restriction of moisture permeation and insect penetration
4. Higher moisture in the grain would evaporate through pores, therefore, higher moisture at the time of procurement would not pose any problem
5. Temperature at the periphery of the bags being low and thereby resulting in less generation of insects
6. Better insecticide persistency would reduce the number of applications and the cost involved
7. Odour and taste of the commodity stored is not altered
