Torquemeters and Torque Test Rigs Torquemeters of very high accuracy and credibility both for test and research and development applications and also for permanent installation on large turbo machines. Product Description Torquemeters have a worldwide reputation for torquemeters of very high accuracy and credibility both for tests and Research and Development applications and also for permanent installation on large turbo machines. Torquemeters Limited has specialized in providing accurate and reliable instrumentation of this type for many years and has earned itself considerable repute over the years. Testing diverse systems has always presented significant opportunities for Torquemeters Limited and their experience and background in this area is extensive. The need for testing is increasing significantly and more and more organizations require accurate and repeatable test facilities. In some cases manufacturers use electric motor drives for testing but many of these systems require the use of step up gearboxes. When the errors caused by gearboxes are combined with the uncertainties caused by poor power factor compensation of the electric motor the accuracy improvements that we can offer are valuable in a competitive manner. Torquetronic torquemeters also have some relatively advanced features that have been developed in conjunction with companies such as Rolls Royce and their experience in providing them with test systems for more than 40 years. It has also been noted that all torque measuring systems change zero at high speeds due to the influence of centripetal forces. Both the 613 and 700 units have a facility to automatically correct the torquemeter zero with changing speed and they can, therefore, maintain their accuracy over an extremely wide operating range. Why We Need Torquemeter We manufacture a range of extremely accurate torquemeters that are supplied with torsion shafts that are rated to the suit the individual application. This capability further enhances accuracy, as the customer does not need to buy a standard rating that is invariably higher than is required. The ET (Electronic Torquemeter) range of transducers have interchangeable torsion shafts. This means that a single torquemeter can be adapted to suit a wide range of products and maintain accuracy. Our competitors would have to supply several torquemeters or compromise accuracy. Changing torsion shafts is likely to be more convenient than changing torquemeter, as the basic test rig layout would not need to be changed. The price of a single torquemeter with several torsion shafts is usually more cost effective than the purchase of several torquemeters of different ratings. We should also bear in mind that unlike many strain gauge devices our electronic readouts are not dedicated to individual transducers and this can provide a further cost saving. The Tordisc coupling offers the lowest weight/torque capacity of any coupling that is currently available. Models 613 Models: The 613 Model has complete front panel display and provides either 0-10V or 4-20mA analogue outputs of torque, power and speed. This unit can also be fitted with an RS232 Interface. 700 Models Torquemeters Ltd. are also the world leaders in continuous duty torquemeters for oil, gas and petrochemicals industries, with over 350 units in service, worldwide, on turbomachines up to 80 MW and 150, 000 rpm with exceptional reliability. Applications Miscellaneous Applications: Domestic Appliances, Electric Motors, Lubricants/Bearings, Seal Development, Railway Vehicles, Machine Tool Spindles.
