LIPITAS 20 MG TABLET is used in the management of high blood cholesterol levels. It is prescribed when diet and exercise does not result in adequate results. It contains a medicine called Rosuvastatin which is an anti-hyperlipidemic agent that works by blocking cholesterol production in the body. It also makes your body eliminate lipids particles from the blood.

How LIPITAS 20MG TABLET Works

LIPITAS 20MG TABLET is a lipid lowering medicine. It effectively reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the body by blocking the action of an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase that synthesizes cholesterol within the body. It also acts on the liver and improve the body’s ability to remove lipid particles from the blood. As a result, it reduces blood cholesterol levels and manage its associated risks.

Lipitas 40 Tablet belongs to the class of medicines known as statins, which reduces bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein-LDL) and glyceride level, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in the future. High cholesterol, known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia, occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy balance of cholesterol in the blood.

Severe skin rash with joint disorders and changes in blood counts (lupus-like disease syndrome)

Liver problems which may lead to yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)

Warning & Precautions

• Pregnancy - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it. Women of childbearing age must use a reliable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy. However, if you accidentally become pregnant while taking this medicine, stop taking it and consult your doctor immediately.
• Breastfeeding - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
• Driving and Using Machines - Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy or sleepy after taking LIPITAS 40MG TABLET.
• Alcohol - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients who consume large amounts of alcohol. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine to achieve maximum benefits.
• Kidney - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with moderate to severe kidney diseases. It should be used with caution in patients with other mild kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
• Liver - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver diseases. It should be used with caution in patients with other liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
• Allergy - Do not take LIPITAS 40MG TABLET if you are allergic to Rosuvastatin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
• Lungs - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with lung diseases (such as severe respiratory failure). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
• Heart Disease - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
• Use In Pediatrics - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children aged below 6 years. It should be used in children and adolescents (aged above 6 years) only if prescribed by the physician. Your doctor will decide the correct dose depending on your child’s age, body weight and health condition. However, higher doses of rosuvastatin (40 mg or above) are generally restricted for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years).
• Use In Geriatrics - LIPITAS 40MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 70 years or older). Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before taking it.
