This substitute can provide the following benefits- � Balancing pH � Reducing hardness of water � Precipitation of heavy metal � Precipitation of Phosphorous and Nitrogen � Removal of Fluoride � Removal of Silica, etc Further, unlike caustic soda, it does not dissolve in water and settles down. It can also be used in place of Hydrated Lime (Calcium Hydroxide).
