Sarees are printed using various instruments like wooden blocks, stencile, engraved plates, rollers and silkscreens are used to place colors on the fabrics.Colorants used in printing contains dyes thickened to prevent the color from spreading by capillary attraction beyond the limits of the patterns or designs.
