Conductor

All of our copper conductors are made from high conductivity copper rods. These 8 mm diameter rods are made from 99.97% pure, electrolytic grade, bright annealed bare copper with an excess of 100% conductivity. This grade of copper guarantees a low energy loss due to line irregularities and inefficiencies which can result in lower electric usage. The rod is drawn to the required wire size for the wire that is being manufactured. Annealed plain copper conductors used in flexible cables and cords conform to the requirements of table 3 Class 5 of IS:8130 -1984. Custom sizes can also be made for specific customer needs, as well as custom colors for job specific requirements.



Insulation

Ratansiri House wires are mainly available readily in PVC insulations & also manufactured in various other insulations like, FR PVC / FRLS PVC / HR PVC / Zero Halogen & PTFE With HR PVC.


PVC Insulation

The insulation of the wire is achieved by using a Type A PVC compound suitable for a maximum continuous conductor operating temperature of 70 to conform to IS:694-1990. The wire is insulated by means of an extrusion process which generates the required insulation thickness for the job, and they all conform to the requirements set forth in IS:5831-1984.


PVC forms the basis of all of the following forms of insulation, but different formulations have been designed to fit certain legal and customer requirements. FR Insulation

FR PVC insulation has better fire retardant properties than normal PVC. This FR PVC compound has a high oxygen and temperature index. The wires are wadded with a flame retardant (FR) PVC compound, which helps to control the spread of fire even at very high temperature. It also protects against electrical shock and short circuit.


FRLS Insulation

Whenever a fire breaks-out in any building/Complex, the burning of wire emanates, the toxic, black smoke, which causes injury and subsequently becomes fatal to the human life. FRLS PVC insulation provides better fire retardant properties than normal PVC & also emits Low Smoke, in case of fire.



HR PVC Insulation

Depending on where you live and how a structure is built, some wires may routinely be exposed to temperatures which would degrade wires made from the normal formulations of PVC. To counteract this, Ratansiri has formulated our Heat Resistant PVC insulation to specifically address situations where a heated resistant wire is needed. The HR PVC Insulation ensures stability at conductor temperatures of 85C and 105C and are designed to adhere to the standards set forth in HR85 and HR 105 PVC.



ZERO HALOGEN Insulation

For extreme uses, Ratansiri Zero Halogen insulation holds the highest heat resistance, making it the best flame retardant insulation. This is critical for certain uses, including buildings which would routinely house large numbers of people or critical infrastructure. Zero Halogen insulation requires temperatures in excess of 300C to catch fire with a 1% Oxygen atmosphere.


Zero Halogen is critical when you must maintain control of electrical components for as long as possible if a fire should break out. Because of the high ignition properties of this insulation, the onset of smoke and an extra flame source will help control the spread and devastation of the fire, at least to a small amount.



PTFE With HR PVC Insulation

PTFE with HR105 PVC is designed for high cost and sensitive installations where fire from electrical short circuits may cause damage to human life & property. PTFE can withstand, operating temperature from -650C to +2600C.

PTFE Equipment Wires

These insulated equipment / hookup wires are most often used inside of other electrical components. These wires are uniquely suited to this type of application. They possess outstanding build specs, which gives them very high mechanical & electrical properties. One of the most important of these is being very resistant to heat; they are approved for temperatures of over 180?C, and down to -40?C. PTFE Multi Core Cables

As well, these Multi Core cables are available in many different formats. Fire Resistant Cables

Conductor :

Electrolytic Grade Copper Bare / Tinned, Solid / Stranded / Annealed Flexible Conductors conforming to IS:8130:1984 or other international standard.


Fire Barrier :

Conductor are insulated with Mica Glass Tape / silicone rubber as per requirements.Mica Tape survives temperature up to 1000C. It is non-toxic, chemically neutral and 100% Halogen free.


Primary Insulation :

The Insulated material may be Heat Resistant PVC / XLPE / Silicon Rubber or any other dielectric material as per customers specification.


Screening :

Individual & Overall Shielding may be of Annealed Tinned Copper Braiding/Poly Aluminum [Thin Layer of Aluminum Foil bonded to Polyester Film] Tape with Annealed Tinned Copper Drain Wire. Braiding ATC Shield has high tensile Strength and provides better coverage in flexing application. Its also done by copper Tape or nickel copper as per specifications.


Inner Sheath :

The Inner Sheath is applied over laid up of cores by extrusion / wrapping of thermoplastic material. The Insulation, Inner Sheath can be Normal Pvc /FR PVC / FRLS PVC / ZHFR / LSF Compound depending upon their application or specfication.



Armour:

Armour is applied over inner Sheath. It may consist of galvanized Round Steel wires or galvanized Flat Steel Strips conforming to IS:3975. Steel wire armoured cables are suitable for direct burial. One or more copper wires can be incorporated in the armour to increase the conductivity of the Armour where it is being used as an earth return. Armour can also by steel tape / double helical steel tape or aluminum wire if clients requirement. Round Wire armoring is provided , where the calculated diameter under Armour is 13.0 m.m. Above this, armoring is either round wire / steel strip as per clients requirement.



Outer Sheath :

A final covering of PVC Compound is applied over Armouring in case of Armoured Cable or over Inner Sheath in case of Unarmoured Cable. The Color of Sheath is Black, Grey or as per customers choice.The Outer Sheath material may be FR PVC / FRLS PVC / ZHFR / LSF as per requirement of the specification.

LAYING Of CORES:- Cores are laid up with a suitable lay. The Final layer direction shall be kept right hand lay.


INNER SHEATH:- The Inner Sheath is applied over laid up of cores by extrusion/wrapping of thermoplastic material.The Insulation, Inner Sheath can be HR PVC, FRLS PVC or FRHF Compound depending upon their application.


ARMOURING:- We apply our high-quality armoring over the inner sheath. This armoring may consist of either wires of galvanized round steel or galvanized steel trips (flat) all of which will conform to IS:3975.


Please Note: We provide round wire armoring when the calculated diameter (under the armor) is 13.0 mm. When the calculated diameter is more than this, we use either steel strip or round wire, whichever best suits the application for the control cable.


OUTER SHEATH:- A final covering of PVC Compound, conforming to IS:5831:84, is applied over Armoring in case of Armored Cable or over Inner Sheath in case of Unarmored Cable, called as Outer Sheath.

Conductor

All of our copper conductors are made from high conductivity copper rods. These 8 mm diameter rods are made from 99.97% pure, electrolytic grade, bright annealed bare copper with an excess of 100% conductivity. The rod is drawn to the required wire size for the wire that is being manufactured. Annealed plain copper conductors used in flexible cables and cords conform to the requirements of table 3 Class 5 of IS:8130 -1984. Insulation

Ratansiri House wires are mainly available readily in PVC insulations & also manufactured in various other insulations like, FR PVC / FRLS PVC / HR PVC / Zero Halogen & PTFE With HR PVC.

PVC Insulation

The insulation of the wire is achieved by using a Type A PVC compound suitable for a maximum continuous conductor operating temperature of 70 to conform to IS:694-1990. The wire is insulated by means of an extrusion process which generates the required insulation thickness for the job, and they all conform to the requirements set forth in IS:5831-1984.

PVC forms the basis of all of the following forms of insulation, but different formulations have been designed to fit certain legal and customer requirements. FR Insulation

FR PVC insulation has better fire retardant properties than normal PVC. This FR PVC compound has a high oxygen and temperature index. The wires are wadded with a flame retardant (FR) PVC compound, which helps to control the spread of fire even at very high temperature. It also protects against electrical shock and short circuit.

FRLS Insulation

Whenever a fire breaks-out in any building/Complex, the burning of wire emanates, the toxic, black smoke, which causes injury and subsequently becomes fatal to the human life. FRLS PVC insulation provides better fire retardant properties than normal PVC & also emits Low Smoke, in case of fire.

HR PVC Insulation

Depending on where you live and how a structure is built, some wires may routinely be exposed to temperatures which would degrade wires made from the normal formulations of PVC. To counteract this, Ratansiri has formulated our Heat Resistant PVC insulation to specifically address situations where a heated resistant wire is needed. The HR PVC Insulation ensures stability at conductor temperatures of 85C and 105C and are designed to adhere to the standards set forth in HR85 and HR 105 PVC.

ZERO HALOGEN Insulation

For extreme uses, Ratansiri Zero Halogen insulation holds the highest heat resistance, making it the best flame retardant insulation. This is critical for certain uses, including buildings which would routinely house large numbers of people or critical infrastructure. Zero Halogen insulation requires temperatures in excess of 300C to catch fire with a 1% Oxygen atmosphere.

Zero Halogen is critical when you must maintain control of electrical components for as long as possible if a fire should break out. Because of the high ignition properties of this insulation, the onset of smoke and an extra flame source will help control the spread and devastation of the fire, at least to a small amount.

PTFE With HR PVC Insulation

PTFE with HR105 PVC is designed for high cost and sensitive installations where fire from electrical short circuits may cause damage to human life & property. PTFE can withstand, operating temperature from -650C to +2600C.

FR PVC insulation has better fire retardant properties than normal PVC. This FR PVC compound has a high oxygen and temperature index. The wires are wadded with a flame retardant (FR) PVC compound, which helps to control the spread of fire even at very high temperature. It also protects against electrical shock and short circuit.

PTFE Equipment Wires

These insulated equipment / hookup wires are most often used inside of other electrical components. These wires are uniquely suited to this type of application. They possess outstanding build specs, which gives them very high mechanical & electrical properties. One of the most important of these is being very resistant to heat; they are approved for temperatures of over 180?C, and down to -40?C. As well, these Multi Core cables are available in many different formats. Shielding prevents electrostatic interference which keeps external electric sources from corrupting the signal which is carried by the Multi Core cable. Fire Resistant Cables

Ratansiri has added a special range ofFire Survival & Fire Resistant cablesto its product range. The Fire Survival Cables that we provide are designed to continue to operate for a defined minimum period of time in case of fire including water spray & mechanical shock. Conductor :

Electrolytic Grade Copper Bare / Tinned, Solid / Stranded / Annealed Flexible Conductors conforming to IS:8130:1984 or other international standard.

Fire Barrier :

Conductor are insulated with Mica Glass Tape / silicone rubber as per requirements.Mica Tape survives temperature up to 1000C. It is non-toxic, chemically neutral and 100% Halogen free.

Primary Insulation :

The Insulated material may be Heat Resistant PVC / XLPE / Silicon Rubber or any other dielectric material as per customers specification.

Screening :

Individual & Overall Shielding may be of Annealed Tinned Copper Braiding/Poly Aluminum [Thin Layer of Aluminum Foil bonded to Polyester Film] Tape with Annealed Tinned Copper Drain Wire. Braiding ATC Shield has high tensile Strength and provides better coverage in flexing application. Its also done by copper Tape or nickel copper as per specifications.

Inner Sheath :

The Inner Sheath is applied over laid up of cores by extrusion / wrapping of thermoplastic material. The Insulation, Inner Sheath can be Normal Pvc /FR PVC / FRLS PVC / ZHFR / LSF Compound depending upon their application or specfication.

Armour:

Armour is applied over inner Sheath. It may consist of galvanized Round Steel wires or galvanized Flat Steel Strips conforming to IS:3975. Steel wire armoured cables are suitable for direct burial. One or more copper wires can be incorporated in the armour to increase the conductivity of the Armour where it is being used as an earth return. Armour can also by steel tape / double helical steel tape or aluminum wire if clients requirement. Round Wire armoring is provided , where the calculated diameter under Armour is 13.0 m.m. Above this, armoring is either round wire / steel strip as per clients requirement.

Outer Sheath :

A final covering of PVC Compound is applied over Armouring in case of Armoured Cable or over Inner Sheath in case of Unarmoured Cable. The Color of Sheath is Black, Grey or as per customers choice.The Outer Sheath material may be FR PVC / FRLS PVC / ZHFR / LSF as per requirement of the specification.

In the event a cable should need to exceed five cores, we use the following:

Two adjacent (counting and direction cores) in each layer will be colour Yellow, Blue, and remaining cores will be colour Gray. Cores can also be identified by numbers that are clearly printed on cores of the same colour. This makes it much easier to identify various cores that may be bundled.

LAYING Of CORES:- Cores are laid up with a suitable lay. The Final layer direction shall be kept right hand lay.

INNER SHEATH:- The Inner Sheath is applied over laid up of cores by extrusion/wrapping of thermoplastic material.The Insulation, Inner Sheath can be HR PVC, FRLS PVC or FRHF Compound depending upon their application.

ARMOURING:- We apply our high-quality armoring over the inner sheath. This armoring may consist of either wires of galvanized round steel or galvanized steel trips (flat) all of which will conform to IS:3975.

Please Note: We provide round wire armoring when the calculated diameter (under the armor) is 13.0 mm. When the calculated diameter is more than this, we use either steel strip or round wire, whichever best suits the application for the control cable.

OUTER SHEATH:- A final covering of PVC Compound, conforming to IS:5831:84, is applied over Armoring in case of Armored Cable or over Inner Sheath in case of Unarmored Cable, called as Outer Sheath.

The Insulation, outer sheath can be HR PVC, FRLS PVC or FRHF Compound depending upon their application.
