Mobile earth effectively protects sensitive equipment by safely conducting harmful VHF, harmonics, surges, spikes, unbalanced and short circuit currents into ground mass. It can be installed vertically or horizontally as per site conditions and convenience.
The Mobile earth can also be used as earth for lightning protection. However for ESE LPS the code stipulates three earth pits connected in star or delta, which has to be followed.

Number of Operatons :Upto 75 times or 2 years. The mobile earth has to be wiped by wet cloth after every use and stored back. It should not be washed in flowing water. Evey time it it put inside the ground (for what so ever small time) is considered as a usage count.

Installation Procedure :

• Vertical setting : Drill a 150 mm dia X1.5 m deep bore in the ground & place mobile earth such that the handle is above the ground. Back fill the bore with loose earth slurry. Depending on soil resistivity and desired Pit resistance (PR), connect to another Mobile earth at least 1.2m away, if lower PR is required.
• Horizontal Setting : Make a 600mm wide x 900 mm deep x 1500 mm long trench in the ground. Fill the first 300 mm with soil slurry. Place the mobile earth horizontally in the trench. Backfill the trench with loose earth slurry. Depending on soil resistivity and desired Pit resistance (PR), connect with another mobile earth parallel at least 1.2 m away, if lower PR is required.
• De-installation : After the operations are over and earthing is not required, pull the mobile earth out of the ground in case of vertical setting and after digging top eath layer in case of horizontal setting to pull it out of the trench. Clean softly and repack for future use.
