Strainers are a critical component in any steam, liquid or gas system. REX SY-Series strainers are designed to remove pipeline debris, such as rust and pipe scale. Strainers will protect components such as valves, temperature and pressure regulators, steam traps, pumps, meters, burners nozzles and other process equipments from possible damage and help ensure that heat transfer surfaces are kept free from deposit build up. An improved method of connecting REX Rotary Joints to Journal shaft is provided with our QA-Series Quick release flange assembly. It eliminates threaded nipple and makes removal of the Joint very easy. It reduces inventory requirements too since it eliminates need for RH and LH threaded nipples. THE BENEFITS New scientific way of connecting REX rotary joints to journals. It reduces inventory requirements. No need for right hand (RH) and left hand threaded (LH) nipples. Positive sealing is accomplished with a gasket located between tip end of nipple and journal flange. Easy to mount or remove rotary joint - a fast one man operation. Proper condensate removal is essential for efficient process plant operation. REX offers a full range of established trap operating principles thermodynamic, ball float, and inverted bucket. Correctly chosen and fitted, REX traps can boost productivity, reduce spoilage, save man-hours, minimize steam consumption and cut fuel bills. HOW IT WORKS On start up, main valve is normally closed. When condensate reaches a certain level in the trap, the float begins to rise. This opens the main valve and condensate is drained until the float is lowered and the valve rests tightly on the seat. The float is positioned above the main valve & seat so the condensate forms a water seal and eliminates loss of any live steam. Since there are no pressure fluctuations due to intermittent operation, condensate is discharged at a constant temperature. THE BENEFITS Discharges condensate continuously as rapidly as it forms. High thermal efficiency at both light and heavy loads. Continuous modulating discharge does not create pressure disturbances, which may affect control in air heating coils, shell-and-tube exchangers, etc. Stainless steel internal working parts increase service life. In-line horizontal piping connections simplify installation and maintenance. All internal parts can easily be renewed without disturbing the pipe connections. Float traps can never “lose prime” and blow steam. When condensate is not present, the main valve closes tight. Steam loss is eliminated because during operation, the main valve is always sealed by condensate. The steam lock release (SLR) prevents steam locking when condensate must be lifted to the trap.

REX corrugated flexible hose assemblies are made from stainless steel corrugated hose tubing. The stainless steel hose is covered with an external braiding made from stainless steel wire. The wire braiding can be either single or double layer according to pressure rating required. Braiding increases the hoop strength, stabilizes movement and offers a form of protection to inner corrugated tubing. REX FH-Series stainless steel corrugated flexible hose has been engineered especially for use as Inlet and outlet connections to REX Rotary Joints. It keeps pipe strains from crowding the joint, and does not restrict the joint’s built-in flexibility. It can also serve in many other types of piping systems, wherever misalignment or expansion presents a problem. REX flexible hose is available in sizes from 3/8” to 6”, with couplings threaded, flanged or combination. Steel couplings are double argon welded to hose to make this joint stronger that the hose itself. THE BENEFITS It is suitable for wide temperature range up to 800 °C.
