Bentonite is highly used plastic clay and is an absolute gem of a product to be manufactured in terms of industrial purposes. It is of great commercial importance with inherent bleaching properties. It is these bleaching properties that make it useful and different from other materials. Bentonite because of it having such unique bleaching qualities has been named as Bleaching clay.
Excellent plasticity, higher bonding strength, high shear and strength, low level of permeability and compressibility and many such qualities in short make it all the while important. It also has a varied amount of uses in well-known industries like rubber, paper and cosmetic industries.

Type of Production process at Royal Mineral

  • Firstly, Bentonite is fully dispersed in water which enables the impurities like sand to get removed. The mixture needs to be stirred continuously to disperse the Bentonite easily in water. While stirring one should add a dispersing agent to the mixture.
  • This dispersing agent will help the Bentonite slurry to purify. Now to improve the overall capacity of Bentonite, it is modified by adding a minute amount of alkali. Only a small amount of alkali is needed, so the amount that is added is measured carefully.
  • Now the provided slurry of Bentonite is heated while being constantly stirred. In the middle of the stirring, a coating agent is added in between. The addition of coating agent is done continuously after which it is filtered.
  • The filtered material is kept for drying which ultimately after drying is the material that we need for various purposes. And ultimately, Bentonite is ready to be manufactured to the required clients as per their needs.
