Applications
The Ceramic Tubes and sleeves, that we offer, are available in a wide range of specifications to meet diverse industrial applications. These Ceramic Pipes are high in quality and comply with industrial quality standards. Available In : Different sizes & patterns
S&S Advance Ceramics excel in manufacturing sleeves and seals of various shapes and sizes based on customer application and design. These sleeves and seals are chemically inert to all types of acids and alkalis. They have high wear resistance and longer life.
We produce this product by various processes such as Uni-axial Pressing, Isostatic Pressing and injection molding. The manufacturing process is based on the component size, geometry and the required production volume. Since the technology has been developed by us, we know how to manage the critical parameters to produce the best quality products. We can machine the components to very close tolerances of 0.005 mm and can give a high surface finish of Ra0.1 microns.
Our standard materials for sleeves and shafts are Alumina 99.5%, 96%, yttria stabilized zirconia and silicon nitride.
Applications
Ceramic insulators are used in applications that require a non-conductive rigid component and/or source for heat dissipation. Although all types of ceramic materials can be used in electrical applications, Alumina (all grades) are the most common choice due to their excellent electrical and heat resistance properties.
Ceramics hold their shape and size under pressure. This is important in switching applications where the ceramic is used to open and close electrical contacts in a thermostat or pressure switch. Ceramic parts have high abrasion resistance and offer long life in applications where other materials would wear out quickly.
At S&S, we are capable of producing a wide variety of geometries for ceramic insulators. We provide our customers with a range of capabilities for ceramic fabrication that allows us to provide the best quality ceramic products for the best price.
S&S offers a complete line of vacuum ceramic products.
Ceramics are also well-suited for the high-vacuum environment. They eliminate the risk of outgassing, which can contaminate the sample and damage the equipment. The products are formed in various shapes ranging from simple sections such as sleeves, collars, cones to complex shapes.
S&S Advance Ceramics provides custom high-purity, long-wearing alumina custom shapes based on customer design and tailored for applications including:
With the diversification and increased speed of industrial machinery, demand for wear-resistant parts is growing rapidly. S&S Advance Ceramics has researched and developed wear-resistant parts for various markets, using a wide range of materials and precision technology. S&S Advance Ceramics’ wear-resistant parts are used in a wide range of applications and purposes, and continue to help increase productivity.
Unlike many ceramic materials, Yttrium Stabilized Zirconia has high strength and toughness and is ideal for applications where there is high impact. The material has exceptional wear resistance and abrasive materials have minimal effect on its surface. It has a low coefficient of friction, is resistant to chemical attack from most acidic or caustic solutions and mixes. Most importantly the material produces highly consistent results because of its high reliability (Weibull Modulus > 30) In Carbon Zinc dry cell battery production, YTZP has become the material of choice in conveying the highly abrasive and corrosive battery mix from the mixers to the battery. Mixer Units, Extruders, Nozzles, Dies, Punches, Plates, Rollers, Inserts, Tips, Sleeves, Sweeper Blades, Goose Neck and Holders are all produced from YTZP and extend component life over conventional materials such as Stellite and hardened alloys.
These Ceramic Feedthroughs are often necessary for mechanical movements, electrical current, light or optical signals, and liquids to be transferred to the vacuum through vacuum-tight feedthroughs. The Ceramic Feedthroughs are available with us at affordable prices. Applications :
Hydrocyclones are used in upstream oil production to separate solids from water or liquid hydrocarbon streams. They prevent the build-up of sand in separators and pipelines, which protects sensitive items such as export pumps and heat exchangers. The liquid-solid mixture is forced through an apparatus at the top of the hydrocyclone and the rotational motion causes dense sand particles to separate from the less dense liquid. The solid particles “fall down” the tube and the liquid is “forced up” the tube into a separate cavity. The hydrocyclone system is manufactured in alumina ceramic, which need to be robust to withstand severe abrasion caused by the rotational flow of the abrasive sand.
Hydrocyclones are also used in water treatment as part of the in fracking process offering value in solid / liquid separation from produced water. There is increasing legislation to prevent discharge of solid-contaminated water and a cyclone process can be very effective to remove large solid contaminant from water as a pre-treatment.
We manufacture robust ceramic hydrocyclones for efficient sand seperation in harsh environments for the oil and gas industry. The ceramic components are hard nonwearing and offer a long service life, reliably protecting downstream equipment enabling users to save costs associated with maintenance and replacement parts.
These cyclones are manufactured from SS96 grade alumina as it has high mechanical strength and has been specially designed for wear applications. SS96 also offers high thermal stability and excellent corrosion resistance, enabling it to give high performance in harsh environments.
These ceramic hydrocyclones are custom built in multiple sections using specially formulated joint technology and can be manufactured in a range of sizes from length 100 mm to 700 mm. We can offer ceramic cyclones from ½” up to 4” diameters. Components can be accurately machined to effectively separate particles as small as five microns in diameter, enabling innovative solutions in internal swirl shape and joining technology.
We have the ability to manufacture high quality ceramic components with complex geometries and tight tolerances, enabling customers to effectively separate particles down to five microns in size.
