Our tubular and steel pipes have wide ranging applications in numerous market sectors including oil & gas, petrochemical and the construction industry. These pipes can be welded or seamless and can be supplied with different properties for different purposes e.g. anti-corrosive, mechanical, and structural.

Hollow sections (RHS, SHS, and CHS) are available in metric sizes which are common both in the UK and across the continent. Hot-finished hollow sections are supplied in accordance with EN10210 and in EN10219 for cold-formed hollow sections. Although the sections dimension may be identical for both hot-finished and cold-formed, the capacities are not direct equivalents so care is required to ensure the correct grade is requested. In general, structural hollow sections can be supplied in lengths up to 14.5m.

Joints in hollow sections must account for the relative inaccessibility for bolting unless single sided bolting systems which permit the use of standard end plate or angle cleat connections are used.

Joints in hollow sections are fundamentally different from those used in open wall sections (Universal Beams, channels etc.), as the surfaces of tubes are much less convenient for fitting splice plates and bolts. Further guidance can be found in publications from Corus.

Hollow Bar

Stainless steel hollow bar in a wide range of grades and sizes. Our program of hollow bar includes several grades of austenitic stainless steel as well as duplex stainless steel. Hollow bar sizes range from outside diameter 20 to 273 mm (1.26 to 10.75 in.).

Excellent machinability

Most grades of our hollow bar are available as Sanmac, stainless steel with excellent and consistent machining properties for increased cutting speeds, reduced tool wear and set-up times.

Cutting services

Our stainless hollow bar is delivered in random lengths or cut to fixed lengths. Random lengths range from 2.5 to 6.5 m, depending on size and grade. Lengths down to 1 m may be included in the delivery.Our program also includes mechanical tubing, round bar and cutting tools.
