Heather honey is made from nectar collected from the tiny purple bell-shaped flower of the common heather plant (calluna vulgaris). Common heather flower in late august and early september, and bees can feed on them and collect honey only for that short period or season and hence very rare and is available in limited quantities. heather honey has a buttery caramel taste. it is in granted state and amber in colour. it goes well with pancakes and chapatis.
