A type of synthetic label, Shrink Sleeve is also one of the most durable label products and is printed on plastic. A number of plastics are used to make shrink sleeves.
PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) a high density film that shrinks at lower temperature ranges is most commonly used. With excellent shrinkage rates, clarity, high impact strength, good scuff resistance and high print quality, PVC shrink sleeves are among the lowest cost among this type of packaging.
PETG (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is a high density and also a high clarity, high strength and scuff resistance material used for making Shrink Sleeves. Food grade plastic, it can be used for pasteurizing contents and is recyclable, but rather expensive.
PLA (Polylactide) is a biodegradable thermoplastic used for Shrink Sleeves and for flexible packaging.
EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) foam is another material and is well known for its great strength to weight ratio and recyclability.
Shrink Sleeves can be clear or opaque depending on the need to showcase a product through the see-through packaging. Likewise, they are either manually applied or automatically heat shrunk over the product package. We do both digital and flexographic printing for shrink sleeves.
