Admittance Level Switch

Sapcons SLA Series Admittance Level Switch consists of an evaluation unit, an electronic insert and a probe. The probe is mounted either from top or side of the vessel. The probe comprises of sense, shield electrode electrically isolated from the metallic tank by means of suitable insulator. The two electrodes form an imperfect capacitor with the service material as dielectric.


An accurate measurement of change in admittance affords an indirect measure of the level of material in the tank. The electronic insert measures this change accurately by using Radio Frequency (R.F.) technique coupled with coat immunizing circuitry. The change is converted to a DC voltage variation, which is transmitted to the evaluation unit via a 3core cable for further processing. Solid Level Switches

SLM - Solid Level Switches

The fork is either side or top mounted on the vessel. Two basic types of constructional arrangements are available. In one, the electronics is separated from the fork, whereas in the other, it is integrated. Mounting arrangements of screwed or flanged type, high temperature models up to 200C and flameproof versions for hazardous areas are available. Longer probe lengths require pipe extension made of GI or SS. Integral version meant for higher temperature operations are provided with standoff arrangement for keeping the electronics in a relatively cooler environment. Adjustable probe length is provided with gland arrangement.

Conductivity Level Switch

SLW conductivity level switch is based on the principle of measuring level through the electrical properties of the process material. As the name suggests, conductivity based level switches and sensors sense the level of water or other conductive liquids that have free ions.

Rotary Paddle Level Switch

The working of Orbit Rotatory Paddle Level Switch involves a paddle which is rotated slowly by a stepper motor. An encoder coupled to the paddle shaft produces electrical pulses during its rotation. The pulses are monitored by a microprocessor to ascertain its movement. Paddle rotation stops when the material covers it. The microprocessor signals the material presence and sends the result in the form of potential free contacts. The microprocessor starts the motor periodically to check the material presence. The paddle flaps and vibrates to discard the clinging material ensuring the material has receded and paddle is now clean.
