A ribbon blender is an industrial mixing machine that uses a set of helical ribbons mounted on a horizontal shaft inside a U-shaped trough to mix dry powders, granules, and low-viscosity pastes. The ribbons rotate to move materials both radially and laterally, creating a triple mixing action that ensures a fast and efficient homogeneous blend.

Trough: A horizontal, U-shaped shell that contains the materials to be mixed.
Ribbon agitator: A set of inner and outer helical ribbons that rotate and move the material in opposite directions. This creates a convective mixing pattern, folding the material back and forth.
Shaft: A horizontal shaft running through the trough that the ribbons are mounted on.
Motor and gearbox: Provide the power to rotate the shaft and agitator.
Discharge valve: A valve, often located at the bottom of the trough, for emptying the blended material
