A control valve positioner is the heart of most accurate & efficient control systems, by ensuring the valve responds to the controller commands & adopts the precise position. The positioner gets feed back of actual position of the valve through the feed back mechanism and the potentiometer. This is fed to electronic processor which also receives signal from the controller as set point. The processor compares the set point signal with feed back signal, determines the system deviation and based on the control algorithm gives accurate pulsating signal to the motorized valve accordingly changes valve position very precisely. The valve spindle continues to move till the set point signal. Thus the positioner establishes precise valve position proportional to the incoming signal.
