Chemical AnalysisFrom a chemical point of view, bleaching earth is hydrated silicate aluminum, which is miner logically, related to Attapulgite. In this mineral there exist a 4 to 1 proportion between silicic acid and Alumina. The Alumina component may be replaced partially by iron and magnesium. The analyses of given type of bleaching earth is of minor importance as regards its quality. The average composition of our product for instance, is as follows
- Silicium Oxide : 58.04%.
- Aluminum Oxide : 15.81%
- Iron(III) Oxide : 3.10%.
- Magnesium Oxide : 4.21%.
- Calcium Oxide : 1.19%,

Particle Size DistributionBesides other method, the particle size distribution is determined by a sieve analysis of the dry powder. The following average values have been found for the various mesh BSS sieve fractions: + 100 = 1 %, + 200 = 14%, + 240 = 26%, + 300 = 28%, + 350 = 12%, - 350 = 17 %
