This test is used to determine the RF Antibody in the blood . Blood is drawn from a vein (venipuncture), usually from the inside of the elbow or the back of the hand. A needle is inserted into the vein, and the blood is collected in an air-tight vial or a syringe. Principle: The RF-Latex is a slide agglutination test for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of RF in human serum. Latex particles coated with human gamma globulin are agglutinated when mixed with samples containing RF.

PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS 1. Linearity limit: Up to 100 mg/L, under the described assay conditions. Samples with higher concentrations should be diluted 1/5 in saline (10 parts serum sample + 40 parts saline ex: 10l serum sample+40 l saline) and retested again and the results should be multiplied by 5.The linearity limit depends on the sample / reagent ratio, as well as the analyzer used. It will be higher by decreasing the sample volume, although the sensitivity of the test will be proportionally decreased. 2. Detection limit: Values less than 2 mg/Lgive non-reproducible results. 3. Prozone effect: No prozone effect was detected upon 800 mg/L.
