We are offering Inoperative Bank Account-In layman's language dormant means inactive and inoperative means which isn't being operated i.e. no transactions have been undertaken lately. An account is termed as inoperative dormant if there are not any transactions in the account for over a length of two years. Similarly clarifying the problem RBI says , "for the reason of classifying an account as �inoperative� both the sort of transactions i.e., debit as well as credit score transactions brought about should be considered. However, the any charges levied by financial institution or interest credited by them is not being considered while declaring an account as inoperative account.
