The equipment consists of "V" notch and rectangular notch which can be fitted at the end of the notch channel. Water is circulated by the pump from the sump tank to the flow channel at the end of which is connected to the notch. Measuring tank is mounted on the sump tank to measure discharge.

The apparatus consists of a pair of M.S. plates, Bakelite, brass/aluminum. These plates in series on either side of the heater form a composite wall. The whole unit is clamped in a frame, which can be viewed through the Perspex sheet. The thermocouple tapings enables us to find out the conductivity and resistance of the composite walls.

The total energy or the fluid flowing, through the pipe or changing cross section remains constant. The apparatus enables us to find out the total energy or fluid at different cross sections flowing in a convergent channel. The apparatus consists a test section consisting of an acrylic channel.
The water from the sump tank is passed on to the supply tank with the help of a pump, The supply tank supplies to the water to the test section and is col1ectcd in the over head tank. The tube tappings above the channel show the change in potential energy of the fluid. The now can he adjusted with the help of gate valve connected to the discharge tank. A measuring tank is used to measure the flow of water which is mounted on the sump tank.

When a body is immersed in fluid, it is subjected to an upwards force which tends to lift up the body. This is called buoyancy and the upward force.
The apparatus consists of a ship model, which is made of rectangular shape for the purpose of simplicity. A movable weight slides in a guide bar at the deck. An up right is provided at the center of the ship from which is hung a plumb. When the weight is shifted from the center position, the ship tilts slightly. The angle of tilt (or angle of heel) is determined with the help of plumb. The position of Meta center is then determined by displacement of weight and angle of heel.

The apparatus consists of a copper bar, which is heated at one end, a heat sink is provided at other end. The test section of bar is properly insulated and thermocouples are attached along the length of bar. Heat conducted through the section of bar is measured by heat collection in water-cooled heat sink. A panel comprising of controls and measurements is provided.

The unit consists of a circular pipe; loosing heat by forced convection to air, being forced through it. Constant heat flux is added to pipe by an electrical heater, provided with input control. The pipe surface temperature is measured at various points along length of pipe. Temperature of air at inlet and outlet of test section are measured. Thus the students can calculate local and overall heat transfer coefficients in forced convection, at various airflow rates and various heat flux values.

The unit consists of a vertical brass pipe heated by a cartridge heaterinside it. The pipe looses heat to atmosphere by natural convection. It is fitted in an enclosure to provide undisturbed natural convection currents. Thermocouples are attached on the pipe to measure local temperatures. Heater input is measured on voltmeter and ammeter. Thus students can determine overall heat transfer coefficient and local transfer coefficients in natural convection at various heat transfer rates.

The apparatus determines the Stefan Boltzmann constant. The apparatus consists of a hemisphere surrounded by hot water. Hot water is obtained from a water-heating tank. When the blackened disc is inserted at the center of hemisphere, heat is transferred into the disc from hemisphere by radiation and its temperature begins to rise, and from temperature raise rate. And hence the Stefan Boltzmann constant isdetermined.
