Myrrh is a plant native to eastern and northeastern Africa -Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, and the Arabian Peninsula. In addition to being useful for the resin it yields, this plant is also beneficial in land conservation and ecology. Where it grows, it plays an important role in protecting the soil, especially from wind erosion. It is extremely tolerant of drought and can play an important role in restoring degraded landscapes.
This top quality myrrh gum resin was wild-harvested in Puntland, Somalia. It is 100% natural and organic. What is more, by purchasing it, you can play a role in helping to build community and ecosystem resilience in this region.
Myrrh has a long history of use as incense, in embalming, and in perfumery. It has been used in Egypt and other ancient cultures for over 5000 years, in funereal rites, and to cover up bad odours. It is said to be one of the key ingredients in the mythical Egyptian fragrance, Kyphi, and has been used to anoint kings and scent fabrics for religious pilgrims. The ancient Romans even valued it as gold, using it as security for monetary debts. And of course, in Christianity, myrrh is one of the three gifts given to the infant Jesus by the three wise men.
Myrrh has an exotic, smoky, earthy scent. Burn it in an incense burner to be whisked off into another world. Burning myrrh is considered to aid meditation.
MYRRH BENEFITS
Myrrh gum resin also has medicinal benefits. The resin gum, which is obtained from the bark of myrrh, is strongly stimulant, antiseptic, and expectorant. The resin is taken internally in the treatment of bronchial and ear infections, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, glandular fever, circulatory and menstrual problems. It is used externally to treat mouth ulcers, wounds, and boils and is often added to oral preparations. It is one of the most effective natural medicines for treating sore throats, mouth ulcers, and gingivitis. The mild astringency also makes it a useful treatment for mild inflammatory skin problems.

A wonderful name for a glorious gum resin ingredient that’s Smokey and soft, luminous and sensual all at once. (Some people think it smells like crushed ivy leaves. Others are reminded of angelica, frankincense and celery, while we love this quote from the blogger Boisdejasmin, when she dipped her testing strip into some opoponax: ‘The wave of warm, sweet scent washed over me: it smelled of aged whiskey, mahogany shavings and bitter caramel, but it was also velvety and powdery.’ The resin is extracted from the bark of the Commiphora eyrthraea tree (mostly from Somalia), and is also known as ‘sweet myrrh’. (It’s sometimes spelled opopanax, too, with an ‘a’.)
Opoponax catches alight easily, which explains why it’s been used for incense for centuries: King Solomon apparently regarded opopanax as ‘the noblest of incense gums’. In perfumery, it lends itself most beautifully to Ambrées, working its exotic magic in many much-loved scents.

We provide you with the best quality Gum Rosin WW Grade at the most competitive market prices. Our Gum Rosin WW Grade undergoes stringent testing measures before they are delivered to the market. We offer Gum Rosin WW Grade keeping in view the industry standards. Rosin is an ingredient in printing inks, varnishes, adhesives (glues), soap, paper sizing, soda, soldering fluxes, and sealing wax. Rosin can be used as a glazing agent in medicines and chewing gum. It is denoted by E number E915. A related glycerol ester (E445) can be used as an emulsifier in soft drinks. In pharmaceuticals, rosin forms an ingredient in several plasters and ointments. In industry, rosin is the precursor to the flux used in soldering. The lead-tin solder commonly used in electronics has about 1% rosin as a flux core helping the molten metal flow and making a better connection by reducing the refractory solid oxide layer formed at the surface back to metal. It''''s frequently seen as the burnt or clear residue around new soldering. A mixture of pitch and rosin is used to make a surface against which glass is polished when making optical components such as lenses. Rosin is added in small quantities to traditional linseed oil/sand gap fillers, used in building work. When mixed with waxes and oils, rosin is the main ingredient of mystic smoke, a gum which, when rubbed and suddenly stretched, appears to produce puffs of smoke from the finger tips.

Incense is the simplest, purest and economical way to make your living space fragrant. Incense is widely described in ancient Sanskrit scriptures and has been credited for pleasing the gods. Use: While performing puja and offer to deity, upon the completion of puja take dhoop on you and spread it in the entire house. This wards off & keeps the evils away from your place. HOW TO BURN RESIN INCENSE There are many techniques for burning resin incense, this is just one of many. Resins will not burn on their own, at minimum they require charcoal tablets and a charcoal incense burner. Fill your charcoal burner 3/4 full with sand or rocks to absorb some of the heat. Then place your burner on a heat resistant surface, such as a ceramic coaster or tile, as the bottom of the burner will become very hot and may result in damage to your surface. Using tongs to hold the charcoal tablet, light it following the instructions provided with your charcoal. Place the hot charcoal onto the bed of sand inside your charcoal burner or onto the mesh screen if you burner has one (I prefer to flip the mesh screen so it creates a bowl-like shape). Allow the charcoal 5-15 minutes to fully come to temperature indicated by a layer of ash forming on the tablet Using a metal spoon, add a very small amount of resin on top of the hot charcoal releasing the fragrant incense smoke. Repeat as desired until the charcoal is exhausted. When finished, allow the charcoal to completely cool in the burner before discarding. When in doubt, dowse it with water. CAUTION: At no time should you touch the charcoal tablet once lit or attempt to move the charcoal burner. Both will be very hot and will burn you. Do not leave burning charcoal or burning incense unattended. Allow for proper air ventilation in the room where you are burning incense. DO NOT EAT. NOT INTENDED FOR CONSUMPTION. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS
