Activated Alumina is an aluminum oxide that is highly porous and exhibits tremendous surface area.
Activated Alumina Ball is resistant to thermal shock and abrasion and will not shrink, swell, soften nor disintegrate when immersed in water. Activated Alumina Balls surface area is in the range 345-415 m2/g. Because Activated Alumina Balls has a higher capacity for water than Silica Gel at elevated temperatures, it is mainly used as a desiccant for warm gases including air. In many commercial applications zeolitic materials have now replaced it.
Applications : - Primarily used for air drying & low temperature Applications for getting better dew points.
- Especially suited for compressed air drying systems.
- Extremely effective for drying gases.
- A highly efficient adsorbent with large porosity and contact surface
- Very stable physically and chemically, lubricating oils & refrigerants all form degradation acids upon use.
- Peroxide removal form organic solvent Tetrahydrofuran (THF).
- Arsenic & Fluoride removal from Ground Water.
Storage Conditions : Store in a dry room. Prevention against water, acid and alkalis
