Soil testing is performed to determine the density, moisture content and drying effects. Soil assessed in this area is usually used to fill in roads or structures, this is where the particle size is determined to predict the physical performance, characteristics and classification of the soil.
Chemical analysis on soil is performed to assess whether chloride, sulphate or an organic matter is present.
This can result in the corrosion of an embedded reinforcement when used in construction with concrete. Therefore it allows us to determine whether any special cement needs to be incorporated into the mix to prevent this from happening.
