Sustainable agriculture has become important in the present time owing to pollution and soil degradation. The use of organic manures and fertilizers which are of biological origin is one of the important practices in this form of agriculture. Vermiwash is Growth Promotor that is known to bring about growth enhancement in a wide variety of plants.

Organic amendments like vermicompost and vermiwash promote humification, increased microbial activity and enzyme production, which, in turn, bring about the aggregate stability of soil particles, resulting in better aeration. Organic matter which present in Organic Fertilizer has a property of binding mineral particles like calcium, magnesium and potassium in the form of colloids of humus and clay, facilitating stable aggregates of soil particles for desired porosity to sustain plant growth.

Product Description: 

Vermiwash is a liquid that is collected after the passage of water through a column of worm action. It is a mixture of excretory products and mucus secretion of earthworms along with micronutrients from the soil organic molecules. It contains nitrogen as nitrogenous excretory product and growth promoting hormones and essential enzymes and infuses resistance in plants. It is applied as foliar spray. It contains various enzymes cocktail of protease, amylase, unease and phosphatase. These are beneficial for growth and development of plant and stimulate the yield and productivity of crops. Microbial study of vermiwash found that Nitrogen fixing bacteria like Azotobacter, Agrobacterium and Rhizobium and some Phosphate solublizing bacteria are also found in vermiwash. Its positive effect on plant growth of black gram was also reported in some studies. Seedling of Vignamunga, Vigna radiate, Sesamumindicum, resulted in increase of growth parameters like the root length, shoot length, number of twigs and leaves and total biomass of the plant after spraying the vermiwash. 

Vermiwash acts as a plant tonic and helps to reduce many plant diseases.      

Princeple of Vermiwash Production:

The trickling of water takes away all the body secretions of the earthworm along with it and also other nutrients from the decomposed materials. 

The collected water contains many nutrients readily available to the crop plants.         

 How to Use: 

1 Ltr of Vermiwash should be diluted 100 times with water and then applied. 

Periodicity: Once in 10 days
