A HEPA filter is a high efficiency pleated air filter capable of capturing extremely small particulate matter down to particles that are the size of a micron (µ), or a micrometer, which is 1/1000th of a meter. They are a common part of air purification systems since they strictly comply with the standards set for pollutant removal. The anagram HEPA stands for high efficiency particulate air, which is an efficiency standard that applies to air filtration equipment and systems capable of removing the most minute particulate matter.
A pre-filter is an integral part of almost any air purifier that you see on the market. It's the first stage of filtration, and it essentially helps to capture large particles . This prolongs the life of your filter, and it makes your system much more efficient.

The fiber glass media (4, 2, 1 layers respectively for 3, 5 & 10 microns) inhibits growth of microorganisms, it is sandwiched between 2 layers of hdp mesh and reinforced with anodized aluminum grills on both sides. The filter matrix is housed in an g.i sheet frame with flanges and closed-cell neoprene gasket. Filters can be cleaned with water, mild detergents or compressed air in reverse direction.
